Another zip tie around the jacket and use a Panduit gun like before to secure its position. Finally, wrap the zip tie around with flex-fix tape with as many rolls as you feel. The first step is to select the right size of the flex duct.
Turn on the furnace in normal operating mode and measure the flow through the selected register. Unfortunately the way it was designed and the way it will work correctly are usually two different designs. If there is a way that you can use metal duct over flex plastic I would go that way. Many times they just connect plastic flex duct and lay it on the ground so critters can chew through it.

Post all other heating and cooling questions here. I have to think the only reason for the flex tube is cost. Installing a flex tube does not require any cutting, measuring, or other skills so it can be done by the lowest paid guy on the installation crew.
It seems that crossovers never seem to work right for some reason. Like Greg said, duct work is a science and can be very difficult to figure out even with a computer program. So, we’ll end up needing a 90 turning down here. Then a 90 turning that way and then a 90 going up.
These estimated savings are for homes heated with forced-air electric furnaces and no wood heat. If fossil fuel furnaces are used, the savings in input energy would be estimated by dividing the energy savings by the Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency of the furnace. In retrofit situations, one measurement of the air handler flow should be sufficient.
